Today we talked about the importance of voting tomorrow, November 4th! Since we know voting day is tomorrow we decided to have our own voting session in class! First, we talked about how voters need to vote based on what a candidate does, not how a candidate looks. As one student pointed out, "You have to learn about who your voting for before you decide to vote for them." We read these two books to help us learn about our candidates!
We talked about the good and bad qualities of both candidates before casting our own votes!
Before casting our vote, we discussed how important it is to have a reason you're voting for someone. This also goes with our opinion unit that we're starting in writing.
We also talked about how voting is personal, and that it's okay if you vote for someone different than your family/friends!
In the end the winner was.......GRACE! Grace had 16 votes and Duck had 6.
Happy voting tomorrow!
