MOTION
This week, we learned about distance, speed, and forces in our motion unit. We started by thinking about distance and speed and the way these two are related.
This week, we learned about distance, speed, and forces in our motion unit. We started by thinking about distance and speed and the way these two are related.
Then, we used toy cars to learn about forces. We learned that objects need a push or pull to start in motion. We explored forces by trying different ways to get our cars moving.
On Friday, we took science outside and used marshmallow launchers to think about motion. We had to use a force to get the marshmallow to move, and we could change the distance and the speed depending on our force and the way it was applied. Leverage also changed the distance and speed, something students learned about in their kindergarten science. Plus, it was pajama day, so these pictures turned out really fun!
