1. Thank you to those who have donated to our auction basket. The auction is this Friday, so our basket will be compiled this week. If you're still able to donate, please check the sign up sheet by clicking here.
The auction is this Friday, November 13th from 6:30-11:00pm at Cobblestone Farms.
2. Now that we've been in school a few months, I'm reassessing student reading levels. This will tell me the kind of growth students have made. It gives me a good picture of their learning needs so we can adjust reading groups accordingly. It's such a pleasure listening to students read. I love seeing students decode words and think about books independently! First grade is the best grade to teach young readers, there's so much growth going on!
3. Our Blue Ribbon Award Celebration is Friday, November 20th at 2:30pm. It's located in the New Life Auditorium.
4. No school Wednesday, November 25th-Friday, November 27th for Thanksgiving.
4. Special Kid is Niku!

This week we welcomed mealworms into our classroom, which we're studying in science. We observed the physical characteristics of a mealworm and also the mealworm's habitat! This week, we'll be following up with some investigations into the various needs of the mealworm...stay tuned!
On Friday Mr. G invited us to see some exciting science with his class. It was great to get together with the other first grade class and observe science together!
