I thought I'd share two math activities we've been doing this week.
The first is called "The Difference Game". Students use pennies to help them find the difference between two numbers.
The first is called "The Difference Game". Students use pennies to help them find the difference between two numbers.
Each player draws a card and lines up that many pennies. Then, they see which player has more. They find the difference and the player with more keeps the difference. The other pennies go back into the "bank" to be used again.
We also learned about the word "equivalent". When two things mean the same thing, they're equivalent. So, 6+4 is equivalent to 10. We made these equivalence posters to practice finding equivalent values.
